An enrollment decision depends on three things: 1) an application (available below), 2) the registration/application fee, and 3) a parent interview. Often the parent interview can be conducted in conjunction with a school tour. If a student is not accepted, then the registration fee will be refunded.
Cornerstone does not require a tuition contract. Generous financial aid is available. Need is determined through the third party service called "FAST" (see link below).

Parents wishing to enroll students in Cornerstone Christian Academy must fill out a student application for each student. Each new student application must be accompanied by a $125 registration fee (maximum $250 family fee), a recent report card, and copies of standardized test results (if available). Returning students pay a $75 re-enrollment fee if re-enrolled by February 21. Returning students who re-enroll after February 21 will pay a $125 re-enrollment fee.
When materials for new students have been submitted, an interview will be scheduled for the family with the principal. While we prefer to conduct the interview with both parents (if living with or if financially responsible for the student), we understand that due to certain circumstances it may be possible for only one parent to be involved in the interview. We do reserve the right to place students in the appropriate instructional level as determined by test data and developmental maturity. Final acceptance into Cornerstone is determined by the principal.
The Commonwealth of Virginia requires that children must be five years of age by September 30th to be eligible for kindergarten, and six years of age by September 30th to be eligible for first grade. Some parents have chosen to add a year in the preschool in order to enroll somewhat younger children. In addition to the registration form and fee, kindergartners must have a completed health form before beginning school in the fall. Each year, parents will receive a parent commitment form that should be signed and returned to the school. Registration fees are nonrefundable if space is available and the child is accepted. If no space is available in the class requested for a particular student, the student will be placed on a waiting list.

Tuition may be paid in one lump payment or in ten monthly payments. The first payment is due by August 5th of the school year. Those paying the full tuition at one time will receive a 2% discount (this discount does not apply to students who receive financial aid through Cornerstone). Monthly payments are due by the 5th of each month; a late fee of $35. will be applied to any payment received after the 10th of the month.

Families with two or more students attending Cornerstone Christian Academy are eligible for discounts. Two children - a 10% discount is applied to the second child; three children - a 15% discount is applied to the third child; four or more children - a 20% discount is applied to each additional child. All discounts are given on the lesser tuition.

In recognition of the financial sacrifice that many families make in order to send their children to private schools, Cornerstone Christian Academy offers financial aid. If your family has a total family income of less than $50,000 a year, we encourage you to request information about this program. Cornerstone utilizes the services of FAST (see link above). Once you have completed the needed information, FAST assesses it and sends a confidential report to Cornerstone Christian Academy; financial aid is provided based upon the results of this report and the available funding.
