School/Home Communication
All children benefit from personal attention. Children enjoy
being singled out for specific praise and recognition.
Cornerstone Christan Academy promotes this kind of personal attention
by limiting class sizes to no more than 12 students and through the the
active involvement of parents and other volunteers. Our goal is
for teachers and administrators to know and love every student in a way
that will encourage the student to live up to his/her own potential and
to work cooperatively with others.
CCA seeks to assist parents in the Christian nurture and education of
their children. It is our belief that parents are responsible for
educating their children (Deuteronomy 4:9 and 6:6-9). Parents are
encouraged to participate at all organizational levels - volunteering
in and out of the classroom, serving on the faculty or staff, working
on the school board. We welcome parent and grandparent
visitations to the classroom and encourage parents to join their
children for lunch when schedules permit. As an independent
Christian and classical school, Cornerstone Christian Academy is
run by members of the Cornerstone Christian
Academy Parent Teacher Fellowship (CCAPTF). Parents are
encouraged and expected to participate in CCAPTF meetings and
activities. Parental involvement and support at special services,
programs, and annual fund-raising events are also expected.
Although parents are invited to consult with teachers at any time,
there is one mandatory parent/teacher conference. This is
scheduled following the first grading period. At least one
parent/guardian must attend and both parents are encouraged to
attend. Either a parent or teacher may schedule additional
conferences if desired.
